You want optimization without giving up your API keys

The Problem

Most AI optimization platforms require you to use their API keys or create accounts with each provider through their platform. You lose control over billing, usage limits, and data handling. You want the optimization without the lock-in.

The Solution

Tokonomy is a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) proxy. You pass your real API key in the request header, exactly like you would with the provider directly. Tokonomy reads it, optimizes the request, forwards your key upstream, and never persists it. Your billing relationship stays with the provider.

Before and After

Platform-Managed Keys
Your Tool → Platform (their key) → Provider API Platform controls billing Platform sees all requests Vendor lock-in Opaque pricing
BYOK with Tokonomy
Your Tool → Tokonomy (your key) → Provider API You control billing directly Prompts processed in memory only No lock-in (remove proxy URL = done) Provider pricing, no markup
Token savings: Your keys

How It Works

1

Sign up for Tokonomy and create an application for your provider

2

Get your proxy URL from the dashboard

3

Point your tool at the proxy URL. Keep using your own API key

4

Tokonomy optimizes the request and forwards your key to the provider. Nothing is stored

Frequently Asked Questions

Are my API keys stored?
No. Your upstream provider key is read from the request header, forwarded to the provider, and discarded. It is never logged or persisted.
What about cross-provider keys?
If you enable cross-provider routing, you can store keys for other providers in the dashboard. These are encrypted at rest and only decrypted in memory during routing.
Can I revoke access instantly?
Yes. Change your tool's base URL back to the provider's URL. Tokonomy is out of the loop immediately. No migration, no export, no waiting period.
Is there a markup on API costs?
No. You pay the provider directly at their published rates. Tokonomy reduces what you pay them by optimizing the request before it's sent.
